About General Component Design, Inc.

General Component Design, Inc. was founded at the end of year 2005. Its initial goal is to be a continuation of services and products previously provided by the General Electric Company at the East River Road location in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This group had specialized in instrument metrology, Locomotive transportation electronics, Industrial electronics and electronic test equipment.

The General Electric facility in Minneapolis was closed in May 2006. Some of their Transportation and Industrial product lines were transferred to other facilities.

Models that were not retained by G.E. but transferred to General Component Design, Inc. include, but not limited to:

  • Model MC-10, Load Meter Calibrator
  • Model GP-1200, Transition Test Set (M-G)
  • P&H brand Gate Pulse Generator Module
  • Model HDC-90, Calibrated Heat Source (Locomotive Hot Box)
